This recipe comes from our friends in Norridgewock and is the best veggie burger I have had so far.
Ingredients:
4 1/2 cup water
1/2 cup Bragg Liquid Aminos
1 1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1 1/2 tsp sweet basil
1 1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp cayenne, optional
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/3 cup raw sunflower seeds
1/2 cup finely chopped celery
1 medium onion, chopped and sauteed
1/3 cup nutritional yeast flakes
1/2 cup finely grated carrots
2 Tbl soy flour
4 1/2 cup quick oats
Directions:
In a large pot bring water to a boil. Add Bragg Liquid Aminos and seasonings. Add walnuts, sunflower seeds, celery, onions, carrots, nutritional yeast, soy flour. Bring to a boil again. Add the quick oats, stirring just enough to mix evenly. Turn off heat, cover and allow to cool 5-10 minutes. Form into 3 inch patties. Bake at 350 degrees, 15 minutes on each side until lightly browned and crisp. Makes 18 burgers. You can cool, stack and freeze for latter.
